At the Institute for Theoretical Physics TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (post-doc, all genders) limited to expected 6 years for 40 hours/week. Expected start: September 2026.

Tasks:
Theoretical research in high energy physics, broadly defined, including quantum field theory, quantum gravity, high energy nuclear physics, lattice field theory
Writing and publishing of scientific articles
Participation in research and project activities
Participation in scientific events
Participation in teaching activities and exams, as well as supervision of Bachelor, Master and PhD students
Participation in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:
PhD in physics
Research record and excellent knowledge of quantum field theory
Ability to independently conceive and carry out ground-breaking theory research using creative thinking
Interest in supervision and work with students
Willingness to collaborate with members of the High Energy Theory group
Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 4,932.90/month gross, 14 times/year for 40 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
